Common Survey Tasks
Common tasks that you may wish to include in your surveys include:
Action commands allow you to automatically enter a response to a question, without direct input from the survey respondent Action Commands
Conditional Text (also known as Dynamic Text) describes any text that is tailored according to the survey respondent's answer to a previous question. Conditional Text may be used in question text, or in the answer code labels Conditional Text.
Question loops allow you to repeat one or more questions multiple times Loops.
Filters can be used to display questions or answer codes only if certain predefined conditions have been met Filters.
If answers within a codeframe require grouping with a label, or header displayed, the labels for the group can be specified via the Code Group Label answer property Grouping Codes.
Images, videos, and html or pdf files can be displayed in a survey Images and Multimedia.
Least Filled Quotas is a method of preferentially selecting a response (or allocating a respondent to a group) based on the lowest count of collective responses of survey participants at any point in time.
Mixed input questions refer to a question where different types of user input (e.g. radio buttons, checkboxes, text fields) are specified in a single question Mixed Input Questions.
Survey Shaper surveys can be completed on any desktop or mobile device. The selection of available question types allows for optimization on mobile devices.
Verbatim text fields can be associated with an answer code. These are frequently used in surveys to capture responses that may not fall into one of the predefined codes, and are often labeled 'Other (specify)' Other Specifies.
Page Groups allow for the presentation of multiple questions on one page on the screen Page Groups.
Piping allows answers from one question to be carried to another depending on the options selected by the respondent. Piping.
Randomization refers to the 'shuffling' of answer codes such that each respondent will be presented with the answer options in a different order. In contrast, rotated answer codes will always be presented in the same order, however the starting point will differ across surveys Randomization & Rotation.
Applying quotas allows you to keep track of who has completed the survey and, if required, limit the number of people in particular categories Quotas.
The way in which individual questions are displayed can be customized via the Properties Pane Tailoring the Display of Questions.
The Translations feature allows for a single survey to be presented in multiple languages. Respondents can choose to complete the survey in their preferred language. Translations
